Tough love for an empath — Don’t accept these excuses.

Life is hard for an unskilled empath. Even though life for a Skilled Empath can be bliss.

But nobody, and I mean nobody, is born a Skilled Empath. A person must become a Skilled Empath.

Although I have worked in this field for 10 years + at the time of writing this post (September 14, 2009), and although I have worked as hard as I could, and although other people work in this field as well, it still is a very teensy field.

When my trademark for Empath Empowerment (TM) comes through, it will be the first trademarked system dedicated to help empaths in the history of American Patents and Trademarks. That’s just one example of how little known the whole field is. Check back in 20 years, or even five!

Currently, how many empaths are skilled?

Not many. Not when you consider that 1 in 20 Americans was born as an empath.

So the good news is, if you KNOW the term “Empath” and have cared enough to investigate this website, you are learning more about becoming a Skilled Empath than most empaths do. Give yourself a pat on the back.

There are many ways you can help the empaths in your life, whether you are married to one  or you may be a parent to one.

Knowing the difference between being co-dependent and being an empath could be useful.

And if you learn the difference between an HSP (Highly Sensitive Person) and an empath, you’re way ahead of most people. Including most HSPs today!

Accepting responsibility for being an empath

Guess who has that responsibility? The empath.

Not you, if you’re not the empath. So Tough Love may be in order.

Do not enable an unskilled empath by accepting as true any statements like these:

  1. I deserve extra consideration in life (or “You owe me”) because I have this disability, being too sensitive.
  2. The more I suffer and complain about my sensitivity, the more talented am I.
  3. Mine is a rare and special genius (or spiritual gift or psychic talent) and you will never be as evolved as me.
  4. All empaths suffer as I do. My problems aren’t my fault.
  5. The rules of everyday courtesy do not apply to me. After all, I am an empath.
  6. Communication with me might be a problem until you accept that I know much more than you do. In any disagreement, I must win because my knowledge is so vastly superior.
  7. I am so very vulnerable to being hurt by people who don’t know that I am always right. Don’t add to my wounding!
  8. I’m not just an empath. Being an empath, I automatically have great psychic wisdom as well.
  9. Anybody I don’t like is an energy vampire or psychic vampire.
  10. Because I was born talented as an empath, I automatically know everything about being a Skilled Empath.
